The Isstvan Campaign Explained

It is the beginning of the Horus Heresy, brother shall turn upon brother on the black sands of the Isstvan System.

The Isstvan Campaign allows players to experience the events, places and Warlords involved in the Isstvan Dropsite Massacre.

A whole new board region has been added, plus 6 new Warlords and Chaplains for players to control.

New Warlords

Perturabo_DataSlate Perturabo- The Lord of Iron, Primarch of the Iron Warriors - a grim warrior and a master of technological arcarna.

Chaplain_T_Dataslate Both Loyalist and Traitor may also play as a Chaplain, an Inspiring leader of any of the 18 Legions.

New Dataslates

Along with the new Warlords and board region, there are lots of new Dataslates and Stratagems added to the game, introducing powerful new equipment and deadly events. There are some very interesting new Dataslates added to the Isstvan Campaign, which can help turn the tide of battle in your Warlord’s favour. Stormbird

Stormbird The Stormbird Squadren will add 1 to your Close Combat, but also allow you to move UP TO your die roll for movement. This makes moving to specific sectors much easier.

Augury_Scanner The Augury Scanner- A very useful piece of Equipment, the Augury Scanner will alert you to the concealed presence or imminent arrival of events within the vicinity, and allow you to avoid them.

Khorne The Wrath of Knorne- Bloodthirsters are towering beasts which can equal an entire army. Should you lose in Melee with a Khorne Bloodthirster, your Warlord will become weaker, losing 1 point of Close Combat, and the Bloodthirster will increase its Close Combat by 1 for the next time it is encountered.

The Isstvan region is a deadly warzone, in which Warlords must tread carefully. Brave Warlords entering the region may be lucky enough to find some extremely powerful Equipment and Units willing to join your Legion forces.
When your Warlord is in the Isstvan region, he must continue to march forward and encounter various events from the Isstvan campaign. Each Warlord will experience the campaign in a different way to the others, but all of them must survive the campaign and escape back to the main galaxy map.

Warlords can escape from the Isstvan system in several ways –
1. Successfully encounter the final sector – The Isstvan Warzone.
2. Move out of the region with a normal movement roll from the Isstvan Extremis sector, which is the first sector in the region.
3. Certain roll results when encountering the Evacuation Zone Dataslate.

Final fight

Final_Space The final sector in Isstvan region will see Warlords getting involved with the huge battles going on there. Warlords can choose a Melee or a Firefight, against Close Combat and Ranged Combat of 12. Being victorious here will reward a Warlord with a Talisman of his allegiance, plus the Warlord will experience a more favourable escape route back to the main galaxy map – the bigger the difference in attack score between him and his opponent, the closer to the Inner Region he will end up.

Unit_Blackshield_Marauders Blackshields are warriors who have been separated or have denounced their Legion, or in some extreme cases had never known which Legion they were originally from. Blackshields often fought against both sides of the Horus Heresy and may be re-united with when encountered by Warlords of any allegiance. Failure to re-unite with a Blackshield Unit will result in combat against them.
