NOMAD MONTHLY ROUND-UP - MARCH 2025
Hello again everyone!
March of 2025 came and went in what felt like a blur for our small studio, with most of our time spent preparing exciting things for the future! Between working on tons of exciting Talisman: Digital 5th Edition updates and cool stuff that (as usual) we can’t talk about just yet, we’ve kept ourselves busy for most of March.
So, while this is a shorter round-up of news than we usually put out, that’s because we’re gearing up for the rest of 2025, with Talisman Alliances: Fate Beckons, remastered 4th Edition characters, more Classic expansions and much more coming your way - so laying the groundwork in months like this is just as important as those big, flashy months!
The highlight of March was absolutely the official announcement of Talisman: Digital 5th Edition - The Frostmarch Classic. Another iconic 4th Edition expansion, The Frostmarch adds a ton of new cards and more to every game of Talisman where it’s included.
Check out the original announcement here.
Not only did we announce The Frostmarch Classic, but we were also able to confirm that it would be launching on April 16th - so by the time you’re reading this round-up, it should either be very close to launching, or already in your hands!
With Frostmarch Classic almost ready to launch, our team have been able to shift their focus from remastering 4th Edition content to something all-new - specifically, Talisman: Alliances - Fate Beckons. Throughout all of March, our team continued working on the upcoming digital version of the co-op expansion for 5th Edition.
For anyone who hasn’t played the physical version of Alliances: Fate Beckons, it introduces a new, co-operative method of playing Talisman, where players must team up to take on a number of trials, which increase in difficulty as you play. With unique villains that stalk across the board and challenges to overcome as a team, it’s a unique experience unlike anything Talisman has offered before.
Alongside actually playing games of Fate Beckons in the Nomad office, we’ve been working on all of the unique, new mechanics and features that we need to consider for the first 5th Edition expansion we’re adding to the game. The expansion being so focused on co-op play has meant we’ve had to approach it in a unique way compared to how we’ve handled expansions for Talisman: Digital Classic Edition in the past, for example.
With new spells and cards that require ‘willing’ players to trade, and the shared fate pool between players, we’ve had quite a lot of new mechanics to take into account that we’ve never had to digitally design for Talisman before.
March marked a lot of behind-the-scenes milestones being smashed for Alliances: Fate Beckons, which means that we’re now awfully close to being able to show you much more of it - watch this space!
Like we said earlier in this Round-Up, much of March for the Nomad Games team was spent developing, coding and testing! While it might seem obvious that as a games studio, we’d spend a lot of time doing those three things, but while we’re focusing on big announcements, upcoming content and things like that, it’s easy to forget that day-to-day, week-to-week, each and every member of our team are working hard to bring more awesome games for you all.
And in March, our team absolutely worked their socks off - with The Frostmarch Classic, Talisman: Alliances, the mystery 3rd remastered expansion and other exciting stuff getting worked on. And we figured we’d indulge ourselves in a pat on our own backs for that!
In March, we got a few more questions from you all into our monthly mailbag, so that you to everyone who sent in a question for the Nomad Games team!
From Chris ES via email
“Any plans to release 5th edition on android or Nintendo switch? If yes can you specify release date?”
Are there plans for it? Absolutely.
Is it still too far out for us to be able to give you a release date? Double absolutely.
As soon as we can share information about future platforms for Talisman: Digital 5th Edition, we will - until then, just know that we’re going to do it when we can!

“What makes you decide whether you invest in more DLC content for Talisman (like Legendary Decks) versus further polishing the core game?”
It’s a delicate balance for a small studio like us! As we want to make sure we keep a steady stream of content coming for a game like Talisman: Digital 5th Edition. With any DLC content, there’s an immediate and obvious financial benefit to us making more paid content - people can pay for it!
With adding more polish to the base game doesn’t give us an immediate financial benefit, we know that it does increase sales over a longer period of time - a more polished core experience means more word-of-mouth recommendations, more positive reviews and more people playing overall.
So, in order to balance out the immediate and long-term financial health of a small studio like ours, we tend to try and balance out the two approaches as equally as we can. So, while we’re working on things like The Frostmarch Classic and Talisman: Alliances - Fate Beckons, we’re also spending time adding quality of life features and more polish to the base game at the same time, outside of these paid features.
And that’s the end of this months update! Don’t forget, if you’ve got questions you want to ask the Nomad team, you can always send your questions to questions@nomadgames.co.uk, or fill in the form below! We answer each and every question that comes in, so don’t worry if you want to ask us something weird. In fact, we’d encourage it!
And remember, to keep up with everything from our small studio, including Talisman: Digital 5th Edition, make sure you follow us on all the places we are online!
