TALISMAN: DIGITAL EDITION ON PS4

Hi Talisman fans!

We want to put out an open and honest message to our PS4 Talisman: Digital Edition community. Talisman: Digital Edition on the PS4 hasn’t been updated in a long time, and hasn’t received the same expansions as other platforms. We want to take some time to explain why this is the case.

Talisman was initially ported to the PS4 by a third-party company, who modified an engine called Marmalade to run on PS4. This partnership allowed us to take our first steps onto PS4 with Talisman. However, since 2016, Marmalade has been discontinued as a game engine. We created our own hybrid engine to continue updating Talisman, and built the Steam and mobile versions of Talisman from scratch in this new engine while the PS4 edition continues to run on Marmalade.

So, to bring the PS4 edition up to date with other platforms, we would need to create the game for PS4 completely from scratch with our own team and technology with our hybrid engine. This wouldn't be a small project! An updated Talisman for PS4 is something we would like to aim for but we hope you can all now appreciate that this isn't just a simple update - we will need to set aside serious time for this.
